Description of Duties: |
Under limited supervision, performs analysis and research and provides technical expertise in multiple areas of human resources. Duties include, but are not limited to, developing and updating agency human resources policies and procedures; coordinating or providing training on human resources policies and procedures; serving as the agency recruiter, posting job announcements and evaluating applications against job qualifications; providing technical assistance to managers and supervisors; serving as the agency coordinator for performance management activities and procedures; coordinating the agency telework program; coordinating workforce development projects and activities; developing and maintaining electronic records and databases; conducting job/position classification analyses and making classification recommendations; processing position actions in PeopleSoft HRMS; conducting data analysis of agency personnel data; running PeopleSoft queries and reports; conducting research and developing reports; processing agency criminal background and credit checks, assisting with new employee orientation; and completing special projects as assigned. |
Minimum Qualifications: |
Completion of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and two years of related professional human resources experience in one or more of the areas of assignment OR completion of Master’s degree in a related area and one year of related professional human resources experience in one or more of the areas of assignment.
Note: This position may be filled at lower level based on candidate’s qualifications. |
Preferred Qualifications: |
Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess one or more of the following:
• Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint)
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Excellent verbal and writing communication skills
• Experience as an human resources specialist/analyst with a State of Georgia agency
• Experience collecting and analyzing data |
Salary/Benefits: |
Pay Grade 15 – Annual salary range $35,569.36 (minimum) to $62,301.82 (maximum). Hiring salary is commensurate with current employment, relevant education/training and work experience, and available funding. Benefit options include life, disability, dental and health insurance, annual/sick leave, and Employees’ Retirement or Teachers’ Retirement. |
