Description of Duties: |
Advises local education agencies in the development of grant applications, grant proposals, budgets, and program plans; approves grant applications; develops contract for the Board; monitors compliance with and progress of grant recipients’ programs through on-site evaluations and reviews of plans and reports; interprets state and federal laws, regulations, instructions and policies for local education authorities and/or sponsoring agencies; serves as team-lead on various assigned projects; assumes primary responsibility as contact for assigned fresh fruit and vegetable program training, nutrition and nutrition education; collaborates with local customers and local, state, and federal agencies and organizations to utilize available resources for increasing the nutrition education component for students and the nutrition services provided for students; and, serves as liaison to local and state agencies and allied organizations in the area of nutrition and nutrition education with regard to fresh fruits and vegetables, and the provision of nutrition services, including collaborating with parent groups on nutrition projects and programs; responsible for area specific website content maintenance; special projects and other duties as assigned. State-wide travel required. Note: This position is eligible for participation in the Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) Telework program. Candidates for this position must comply with the GaDOE Telework Policy. |
Minimum Qualifications: |
Master’s degree in education, education administration, nutrition or a related field and three years experience in a professional education capacity which provided a working knowledge of grant administration and/or budget preparation and management. |
Preferred Qualifications: |
Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess one
or more of the following:
• Eligibility for Georgia School Nutrition Director Certification by the Professional Standards Commission
• Professional licensure/registration in dietetics
• Must be proficient in the use of the NutriKids Software used for school meals nutrient analysis.
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Experience in planning and conducting training
• Experience in interpreting state/federal laws |
Salary/Benefits: |
This position is part-time, no benefits. Starting salary dependent on current employment, training, experience, and available funding. No benefits. |
