Royal has 15 years experience in the insurance industry. He helped establish BWT Risk Advisors, LLC in 2004 where he currently works as an Insurance and Risk Management Consultant. Mike is very active in the Insurance Industry and serves as the Chairman of Government Affairs for the Independent Insurance Agents of Georgia. He is frequently working on legislative issues at the State and Federal level. Royal works with a wide range of businesses from startup companies to multi-state and international risks. He received a B.B.A. in Finance with an emphasis in Risk Management and Insurance from Georgia Southern University in 1995 and obtained his Certified Insurance Counselors Designation in 2000. Royal is very active in the community. He serves as Chairman of the Gwinnett County Zoning Board of Appeals, Board Member of the Governor’s Office of Consumer Protection and is a member of the Legislative Council of the Gwinnett County Chamber of Commerce. Royal currently lives in Lawrenceville, GA with his wife Lori and three daughters. Mike and Lori are both graduates of Brookwood High School. He enjoys spending his free time coaching his daughters in basketball and is an avid outdoorsman.
